Dr Wong and Dr Tang have close to 50 years of combined surgical experience in both general and vascular surgery. Both Dr Wong and Dr Tang are dual accredited having completed specialist surgical training under the Ceritificate of Completion of Training (CCT) program in the UK and are registered with both the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) and General Medical Council (GMC).
Dr Wong and Dr Tang have been extensively trained in vascular and endovascular surgery in the National Health Service in the UK, whose core values include “commitment to quality of care, compassion and improving lives and where everyone counts”. Locally they have combined more than 20 years of practicing vascular surgery in Singapore.

Dr Wong and Dr Tang practice up-to-date evidence-based surgery with empathy. Venous Disease
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a common condition that occurs when the wall and/ or the valves of the veins in your legs do not work properly, making it difficult for blood to return efficiently from the legs back to the heart. Normally, the valves on the leg veins ensure that blood flows towards your heart in a one-way system but when they don’t work well, blood can also flow backwards and collect in the legs, causing venous stasis.
Peripheral Artery Disease
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a common circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your legs and feet. When you develop PAD, your legs do not receive enough blood flow to keep up with the demand especially during exercise. PAD is caused by a process called atherosclerosis, the build-up of fatty deposits in the arteries that narrows and blocks arteries throughout the body, including in the heart, brain, arms, legs, abdomen and kidneys.
Deep Vein Thrombosis
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition whereby blood clots are formed commonly in the veins in the legs or pelvis. It can also occur in the arm if there is a compression syndrome of the major draining vein of the arm.
It occurs as a result of provoking factors like surgery, immobility, long plane journeys, dehydration and cancer, which makes the blood more likely to clot.
Once the blood clots occur in the deep veins, it can propagate further north into the major body veins (IVC) and migrate into the lungs and heart, which is potentially fatal.
Erectile dysfunction (ED)
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is defined as recurrent inability to attain or maintain penile erection sufficient for sexual satisfaction. ED is affecting 40 % of man over 40 years old.
ED is also a marker of cardiovascular disease and also happens in 75% of diabetics in their life time.
The cause of erectile dysfunction can be from vascular (60-80%), neurological (10-20%), hormonal (5-10%) and drug related (10-15%) issues.
Chronic wounds
Chronic wounds are those that do not progress through a normal, orderly, and timely sequence of repair. Wounds that do not heal within three months are often considered chronic in nature. They are common and are often incorrectly treated. These wounds can cause patients severe emotional and physical stress and create a significant financial burden on patients. They are often painful and tender.
Wounds often drain and emit odours, and applied dressings are often conspicuous. Unprotected by an intact skin envelope, these wounds can be retraumatised and may increase in size. They may develop an infection leading to systemic sepsis and potential amputation if on a limb or need for further surgical cleaning. The chance of a chronic wound to heal completely reduces the longer it is left untreated by a specialist.
