Dr Andrew Lee
Dr Andrew Clayton Lee is a breast surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital. He specialises in oncoplastic breast surgery. He offers a wide range of oncoplastic surgical procedures to suit the individual needs of his patients. He received his formal training in oncoplastic surgery in Edinburgh and obtained his Master of Surgery degree (MS) in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of East Anglia.
Dr Lee was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the U.K. He graduated from the University of Glasgow (MB ChB 1995), and undertook his postgraduate surgical training in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London from 1996 to 2008. This included his specialist training in breast surgery at the Edinburgh Breast Unit. He was admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as a Fellow (FRCS) in 2008.
Dr Lee received his training in breast cancer research at the National Medical Laser Centre and Institute of Nuclear Medicine at University College London, where he obtained his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in 2007. He is actively engaged in research especially in the field of electrochemotherapy and electroporation medicine.
Dr Lee’s practice focuses on the needs and preferences of individuals and their families. He works with his professional colleagues in Singapore and abroad to achieve this goal. He continues to seek opportunities to improve his knowledge and understanding of breast cancer and healthcare system beyond the surgical field. Currently, he has completed the taught component of the Master of Science (MSc) in Cancer and Molecular Pathology and Genomics at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London. Previously, he has completed his Master of Science (MSc) in Health Systems and Public Policy at the
University of Edinburgh in 2011 and Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Commissioning at the University of Birmingham in 2014.
Before relocating to Singapore in 2014, Dr Lee was appointed consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School in Dundee, UK. During his four years at Changi General Hospital, he received the Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Star) and Eastern Health Alliance Caring Award (Gold & Silver) in recognition of the quality of care he gave to his patients.
